SLD Assessment
Specific Learning Disorders
Reading and writing are the foundations of education, but for some, they do not come naturally despite high effort and intelligence. We provide diagnostic clarity for Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) in literacy (Dyslexia and Dysgraphia). Our comprehensive evaluation separates cognitive potential from academic achievement gaps, ensuring you receive the specific accommodations and interventions required to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
SLD Assessment
Who is this for?
This is a diagnostic assessment for Specific Learning Disorder, including a cognitive profile.
It is recommended if you or your child experience persistent difficulty with reading, spelling, written expression, or mathematics, despite adequate support, and other experiences characteristic of Specific Learning Disorders.
Please Note:
6 months of targeted literacy intervention must have been done before a school-aged child is considered eligible for assessment. Feel free to book a consult for more details and recommendations. Some information can be found on AUSPELD’s guide to selecting a successful intervention program.
How do I prepare for my first session?
A Welcome Package is sent first, which includes an intake form, service agreement and relevant screeners. Please complete these before your first session.
Please bring any relevant school reports, academic progress reports and intervention outcomes to the session for review.
Try to ensure your child has completed a literacy intervention program targeted at their academic weaknesses for at least 6 months.
