About the Package
The Adult Cognitive Assessment
An Adult Cognitive Assessment uses diagnostic tools designed to explore the diverse cognitive landscape of individuals, aiming to identify Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and determine their accompanying severity levels. This assessment is not just about identifying challenges but also about recognizing and celebrating unique cognitive strengths.
If intellectual impairment is suspected, or if additional insights are sought for NDIS support reviews, higher education support, or work-ready placement assistance, taking an Adult Cognitive Assessment can be valuable. In this package we seek to provide a comprehensive understanding of an individual's cognitive profile.
By recognizing the unique learning styles and capabilities of each individual, we aim to foster a neuro-affirming environment that encourages personal development and meaningful engagement in various aspects of life.
Please note our assessment packages do not guarantee a diagnosis of any disorder, including IDD, nor does this package assess for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder or executive functioning difficulties. Upon completion however, we will provide an understanding of your cognitive strengths and areas of need, as well as provide a pathway for supports and necessary recommendations.
The Assessment Breakdown/How It Works
How do I prepare for my first session?
A Welcome Package is sent first, which includes an intake form, service agreement, and the ABAS-3 questionnaire.
The client and a trusted person who knows the client well completes the ABAS-3 before the first session.
Session 1: Intake
Intake Interview to gather information
1 Hour
In Clinic or Via Telehealth
Session 2: Testing
Cognitive Testing using WAIS-IV
2 Hours
Must be Conducted on Clinic Premises
Comprehensive Report
A comprehensive report with recommendations is written.
approx. 4-5 weeks wait
Session 3: Feedback
Report and recommendations are provided
1 Hour

This assessment is based on 7 hours of clinical time.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and full amount must be paid 48 hours prior to the first appointment. This assessment is not covered by Medicare or private health.
